Foraging and Exploring

There is so much to see and do in the great outdoors of Burnett County.  Several hiking trails can be found along the St. Croix River in the Governor Knowles State Forest and more public lands such as Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area and the Burnett County Forest provide miles and miles or roads and trails to explore.  I try to get out as often as I can to explore for flowers, birds, mushrooms and more.  Every so often I leave Burnett County to explore other wild places.
